For the remake of The Shining, we tried to scale down the original scenery and given the lack of resources, we had to improvise with similar aspects.
We chose a local reservoir to film our re-make because compared to the original, the two locations are similar.
We have possibilities to use this as one of the roads the car, within the opening, drives down. We have chosen this as a possibility because, as students, we cannot drive, so therefore we would have to use a toy car, and this mound of dirt could be used for the wooden area the car drives down.
We took our chosen toy car out to the locations to see if it the car could be pulled along the surface easily. As a group we believe this location could possibly be used when we film as the toy car was easily pulled along the dirt track. We would use this for the birds eye view shots used within the opening.
This is an likely possibility as our group decided that pulling the toy car along this stretch of land could prove difficult.
This was yet another idea for the lake shown at the opening of the title sequence, we have taken this into consideration as it contains a mound located near the middle of the lake, which matches that in the opening of 'The Shining'
